KABAYAN PARTYLIST REP. ATTY RON SALO STATEMENT ON THE UPCOMING RETURN OF MARY JANE VELOSO I commend the Philippine government for successfully bringing Mary Jane Veloso back to the country. This highlights our government’s resolve in protecting the lives and dignity of every Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), especially those in vulnerable situations. I also thank the Indonesian government for their compassion and goodwill, which gives Mary Jane’s family the opportunity to see her more often and spend valuable time together. Mary Jane’s case serves as a stark reminder of the risks OFWs face, calling for stronger safeguards against trafficking and exploitation. We must work tirelessly to prevent similar situations from happening to other fellow Filipinos. As we welcome Mary Jane home, let us continue to seek justice and ensure all OFWs receive the protection and support they deserve.
