Lacson: Peace wins over terror

Presidential candidate, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson welcomes Supreme Court’s ruling on Republic Act 11479 or the Anti-Terror Act.

The SC on Thursday declared the law constitutional, except for two parts - a portion of Section 4 and the second method of Section 25.

As the law’s principal sponsor, Lacson said that he is very happy with the Supreme Court’s decision.

He added that in a way, it’s a good thing. Because petitioners wanted the High Court to declare as unconstitutional the entirety of Sections 4 and 29, which to Lacson are the “life” of the Anti-Terror Act.

This is a huge step for Senator Ping where terrorism is concerned. He feels positive that this will help remove the country from the list of Global Terrorism Index, where the Philippines is currently in the Top 10.

“Peace wins over terror,” Lacson said.
Senator Sotto, meantime, told terrorists to beware.

The Lacson-Sotto tandem promises to prioritize peace and order when they win in 2022. They plan to eradicate terrorism by ensuring livelihood and development in far-flung villages, particularly in terrorist-controlled areas.

This will be a major component of their BRAVE campaign or Budget Reform Advocacy for Village Empowerment, where planning of local projects will be delegated to local government units.
